This form is a key compliance mechanism for accounts payable departments, but sometimes there\u2019s mystery about how to use it properly. This session will help unravel that mystery. The W-9 helps with due diligence relating to Form 1099, but it\u2019s also key for certain types of payments that fall under the heading of \u201cFATCA\u201d payments \u2013 something many businesses are not even aware of. We will also look at various scenarios and how the W-9 would be expected to look in those situations. In addition, the IRS released a new version of the W-9 in March of 2024, and we will look at what<\/p>\n<p>those changes are and how it affects you.
