This session will cover the latest changes to 1099-NEC and 1042-S, including updates to the forms, and “adjacent” updates such as changes made to the Form W-9 in March of 2024. E-filing regulations took effect in 2023, but the IRS continues to list those changes under “what’s new” in the form instructions for 2024, so we will cover the IRS rules relating to e-filing of these forms, best practices for e-filing, and a special exception that applies to Form 1042-S and e-filing for 2024 forms filed in 2024. We will cover any applicable court cases or IRS guidance that has happened this year, as well. This session is kept “up-to-the-minute” and so will always contain the latest updates.
