We haven’t had many things to talk about under “what’s new” for several years, but that all changed with the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill in July. This new law changes three things with information reporting: the $600 threshold, the Form 1099-K threshold, and the creation of a new reporting form.
This session will spend most of its time on the $600 threshold, which is still in place for 2025 but will change to $2,000 starting in 2026. How do you determine if you’ve crossed the threshold? What if your company uses a fiscal year for its tax reporting? We will answer these questions and more. We’ll also cover looming changes to electronic filing, as the IRS has now given a proposed timeline for ending the FIRE system. As time allows, we will cover general compliance topics as well.
