Chris has 17 years of unclaimed property experience and leads Ryan’s Unclaimed Property Outsourcing Compliance team, which provides services such as state unclaimed property report preparation, due diligence management, statutory and administrative exemption analysis, and payment preparation. He also has experience in other aspects of unclaimed property compliance such as analysis and quantification of potential unclaimed property liabilities, voluntary disclosure initiatives, and the development of strategies for unclaimed property audit defense.

Chris is a frequent speaker on the topic of unclaimed property and has co-authored numerous articles for publications such as Illinois CPA’s INSIGHT magazine and American Accounts Payable Association (APA). He is a member of the Unclaimed Property Professionals Organization (UPPO) where he recently completed a four-year term as Treasurer on the organization’s Board of Directors. Chris had previously served as the Southern Regional Vice President (2014) and chair of the UPPO finance committee (2010–2014). Chris was also the recipient of the organization’s President’s Award (2021), the organization’s highest award, as well as the Shining Star Award (2022, 2011) for his support of the organization’s mission and goals.

Chris is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), the North Dakota Society of Certified Public Accountants (NDCPA), and the Dallas Society of Certified Public Accountants (Dallas CPA).
